Description:
Seattle jazz pianist Ryan Burns creates an original musical score for a new, evening-length modern dance by choreographer Holly Eckert. Coming Unglued tackles the subjects of irrational fear and rational chaos by exploring the world of epilepsy in an evening of dance, music and visual art. The musical score is played live each night by the Ryan Burns Jazz Trio. This score supports a sound collage of excerpts from interviews with local people from Seattle who live with epilepsy. Visual artist, Mandy Gulla, using an on-stage overhead projector, helps recast the visual landscape of the piece through interactive, spontaneous drawing.
